Alliance Francaise de Tulsa is pleased to welcome Marcel Van Dam back to several Tulsa school classrooms and auditoriums at the end of February (27-28th) with additional performances on March 1st, kicking off mois de la francophonie with “kicks on Route 66” in a special evening performance within the new Mother Road Market. Marcel is a singer and songwriter who travels to schools and universities throughout the country to share the French language and culture through music. His musical abilities entertain kindergarteners to adults, and he leaves friendly impressions with all.

An EXAMPLE from a past performance can be viewed here.

Schools around Tulsa will be welcoming Marcel to share his music and techniques with students of all ages. With elementary school students, such as those at Eisenhower International School, Marcel will be invited to sing in two group sessions; first, he can introduce songs to Kinder-2nd grade and then, he may immerse in verse with the 3rd-5th grade. He will also perform for Jenks Middle School and Thoreau Demonstration Academy, where he may sing about environmental issues—such as recycling and biodiversity—with middle school students. At Edison High School, students may choose to learn songs in advance and perform them on stage with Marcel, either solo or in a group. Marcel will also hold songwriting workshops, speak in French classes, and discuss his career as a musician with students at the University of Tulsa and Oral Roberts University.
