Learn French with AF Classes in 2026

Alliance Française de Tulsa offers small, intimate, relaxed lessons emphasizing rapid immersion in French.

Along with our sister-city partnership with Amiens we’ve built a community where adults of every background can learn to speak, read, and think in French — through small in-person and online classes, cultural events, and conversations that connect Tulsa to the francophone world.

Our Instructors

Nan Melton

Nan Melton received her B.A. in French (Honors) from Rockhurst University, and worked for French multinational companies for many years.  She has hosted summer interns from TOTAL and enjoys her French family.   She has several years of experience teaching for the Alliance Française de Tulsa, and has also taught for the Alliance Française de Kansas City, where she was also a Board member, and worked for the International Visitors Council.  She has taught English as a Second Language.

Taylor Grounds

Taylor Grounds received her B.A. in French from the University of Oklahoma, and has 11 years of teaching experience. Between earning her degree and starting to teach full time, she spent a year living and working in our sister city of Amiens, France as an English language assistant. French culture, travel and knitting are her passions. She makes it a goal to make it back to France as frequently as possible, her most recent trip being in the summer of 2024 when she completed a month-long French intensive course at the Sorbonne. Outside of work and travel, she enjoys a slower paced lifestyle with her dogs.

Beginners

Whether you’re planning a trip to France or simply curious about the language, this class builds practical, everyday French through conversation, guided reading, and cultural discussion.

You’ll learn language you can use right away — ordering at a restaurant, shopping, sightseeing, getting around, and chatting with locals — with grammar introduced as a support tool that builds confidence rather than something to master perfectly.

Small, relaxed, in-person classes with no prior experience needed.
