Cara Black, the bestselling author of 19 books, is a favorite presenter within the Alliance Française network—she’s been captivating us with her great stories during meetings at our individual chapters for the past decade. We are pleased to host Cara in this national Zoom session, for all to enjoy. She’ll talk about her latest books, Three Hours in Paris, her first standalone thriller and her Aimée Leduc series, each of which features a different arrondissement of Paris. She’ll touch on the challenges and the joys of writing stories based in Paris. Her interviews with Paris police, café owners and delving in the archives. She’ll discuss how she goes about the research process from her base in San Francisco and over frequent visits to Paris (pre-pandemic!).

The general public, Francophiles and budding writers, especially ones with a Francophile bent, will all pick up tips and inspiration for their next trip or the next tale. If you’re journalling, keeping a notebook, or have a story idea this can be your jumpstart! This particular event is being held in November because this month is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)—an annual internet-based creative writing project.
