Alliance Française de Tulsa

The mission of the Alliance Française de Tulsa is to promote French language and culture through programs in education and the arts, to improve cross-cultural understanding, and to strengthen intercultural communication. The group is organized exclusively for cultural purposes as described under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Who we are...

Alliance Française of Tulsa is part of the dynamic network with over 800 chapters worldwide. Since 1955, Alliance Française of Tulsa has facilitated activities for francophones and francophiles to engage with French culture, language, history, and more.

What we do...

The Alliance Française of Tulsa promotes the French language and culture, as well as cross-cultural relationship, through programs, activities and membership. The Alliance Française of Tulsa offers language classes, events, conversational meet-ups, and other activities throughout the year.

1883

On July 21, 1883, the Alliance Française de Paris was created to promote French language and culture and to foster positive relations between all Francophones and Francophiles. Original members included: the scientist Louis Pasteur, the diplomat Ferdinand de Lesseps, the writers Jules Verne and Ernest Renan, and the publisher Armand Colin.

1902

The Federation of Alliances Françaises USA was founded in 1902 as a nonprofit organization. Currently representing more than 100 chapters in the United States, its national board of 19 members is made of representatives from Alliance Française chapters from across the country.

1955

Founded in 1955, Alliance Française de Tulsa has been dedicated to promoting the French language and its culture through programs in education and the arts.

Today's Fondation des Alliance Françaises

The Alliance Française of Tulsa is proud to be affiliated with the Fondation des Alliances Françaises and the Federation of Alliances Françaises USA. Known as the Alliance Française de Paris until 2020, the Fondation des Alliances Françaises provides oversight to its vast network of Alliances Françaises in over 100 countries. The Federation of Alliances Françaises USA, founded in 1902, organizes national conferences, provides grants, and supports all U.S. chapters with resources and publications.
