Georges Bizet’s captivating opera Carmen tells the story of a fiery, independent woman who drives a Spanish soldier to choose between duty and freedom.

Performing some of the best known of all operatic arias − the “Habañera” and “Toreador Song” − are American mezzo-soprano Sarah Mesko, making her Tulsa Opera debut as Carmen, and former Tulsa Opera Resident Artist Alexander Birch Elliott, returning from his historic Metropolitan Opera debut to sing Escamillo.

Adam Smith also makes his Tulsa Opera debut as Don José, along with Colleen Daly as Micaela. Conductor Roberto Kalb and director Harry Silverstein return after collaborating on The Barber of Seville in 2018.

Composed by Georges Bizet
Sung in French with English supertitles
