Special Event! Cooking Demonstration, Book Launch and Book Signing with Makenna Held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 (Hosted by Anybody’s Guest)

Makenna Held bought La Pitchoune, Julia Child’s summer home in Provence sight-unseen in 2016, when she came across a listing for it in The New York Times.

Today, she operates the home as the Courageous Cooking School. She was the host of La Pitchoune: Cooking in France on the Magnolia Network, a seven-part show that featured Makenna and her fellow teachers as they welcomed guests to La Peetch for a week-long cooking class.

A graduate of Smith College, she and Julia share an alma mater, and Makenna has appeared in Vogue, Eater, Condé Nast Traveler, Boston Magazine, among other media outlets.

11 AM: Cooking Demonstration at the Demonstration Kitchen in Mother Road Market

1 to 3 PM: Book Signing at Anybody’s Guest LTO Pop-up store in Mother Road Market

$25 per person. $40 to preorder cookbook. Price includes the class and a $25 store credit to use at the Anybody’s Guest pop-up location inside Mother Road Market or at Anybody’s Guest, across from Mother Road Market, at NOMA.
