Join us for a day of French culture, friendly competition, and community connection at our Pique-nique et Pétanque event!
We’re kicking things off at 10:00 AM with coffee, pastries, and tournament pairings—plus a quick overview of pétanque rules for all teams. Never played before? No problem! We’ll walk you through the basics before the games begin.
Come celebrate spring the French way—with petanque, picnicking, and good company.
We can’t wait to see you on the lawn!
What is Pétanque?
A beloved French pastime (similar to bocce), pétanque is a game where teams of two aim to toss metal balls (boules) as close as possible to a small target (cochonnet), all while standing in a circle with both feet on the ground.
Register for the Tournament
Pétanque is played in teams of two.
- Have a teammate? Register your team for $20 total.
- Coming alone? Sign up for $10 and we’ll match you with a partner on game day.
- College student? (TCC, ORU, etc.) You play for free with a valid student ID!
Please complete the registration form and submit your payment to save your spot.
Don’t forget to bring your own boules. If you don’t have a set, just let us know on the form.
Deadline to register as a competitor: Thursday, May 8 at 8 PM.
Just Want to Watch?
You don’t have to compete to enjoy the day! All Francophones and Francophiles are welcome to attend for free. Bring a chair or picnic blanket, soak in the spring sunshine, cheer on the players, and savor the French culture.
We’ll also have a potluck-style picnic, so feel free to bring a dish to share! Plates, cutlery, and napkins will be provided. (Note: Alcohol is not permitted.)
