SLING TV Expands Free News Coverage to Global News Outlets

In unprecedented times like these, SLING TV recognizes the importance of reliable, up-to-date information — especially for those who are far from home. Through our “Stay in & SLING” initiative, we’re bringing the world’s news directly to your home, at no cost.

In addition to the news coverage available on channels like ABC News Live and FOX News within the SLING TV free experience, SLING TV is helping consumers to keep up with coronavirus news from around the globe, launching free previews of 19 international news channels.

Until the end of May 2020, viewers can watch news content from their home country on channels from five geographic regions without a paid SLING TV subscription:

  • DW Arabic
  • France 24 Arabic
  • Sky News Arabia

South Asia:

  • Aaj Tak — India

  • France 24 (English)
  • France 24 (Spanish)
  • TV5 Monde Info
  • Polsat News

East Asia:

  • ETTV News

Viewers can easily access these channels on a limited-time basis from the new “World News” ribbon on the “My TV” tab within the SLING TV free experience. More than 3,000 hours of complimentary content from SLING TV, including thousands of free movies and TV episodes, are also available for the whole family.

How to Access the SLING TV Free Experience

The SLING TV free experience is available through a simple app download on a Roku, Amazon or Android device. Once downloaded, click “Browse as Guest” or “Try SLING Free” to begin watching. The SLING TV free experience is currently not available on iOS devices.

The SLING TV free experience is also accessible online by visiting watch.sling.com on a Chrome, Safari or Edge browser and following the instructions on the welcome screen.

Former SLING TV subscribers may need to click on “Rent Movies” and navigate to “My TV” to access the SLING TV free experience.
